SMASH THE CRASH
ending bird-window collisions at the University of Rochester
Birds are an essential part of the University of Rochester, but up to 1,000 birds are estimated to die from window collisions on campus every year. Smash the Crash is an interdisciplinary community initiative to study this preventable conservation crisis and promote effective, evidence-driven solutions to make the university a safer environment for birds. Explore our website to find out what we’re doing and what you can do to help end bird-window collisions.
UPDATE (October 2024): Our work was recently featured in the Democrat & Chronicle and the Campus Times.
